Hymn Text

When our Lord heard that his friend
Was detained and taken in,
He withdrew to Galilee,
Settling beside the sea.

Fulfilling what prophets see,
Zebulun and Naphtali
Was where Jesus came to dwell,
Dawning Light in Gentile Hell.

In the land of death and shade
God’s Great Light was now displayed
For all of the world to see—
Shining still for you and me.

One day Jesus shone on shore
For two at their netting chore:
“Follow me and leave your kin;
I'll make you fishers of men!”

Leave your nets and drop your plow;
Put Him first and trust Him now.
Take the Savior by the hand;
Let Him lead you to His land.
